UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIXTURES-28/11/2007

Group A:

Besiktas 2-1 Marseille
The group has become interesting as any 2 teams can qualify out of the 4 as it comes down to the last match of the group stages.Porto has 8 while liverpool and Marsellie has 7 each and win for Besiktas means they have 6 points.

Liverpool 4-1 FC Porto
Fernando Torres scored his first goal in Champions League for Liverpool from free header.Lisandro Lopez equalized for Porto. Second half started with Liverpool getting chances but failing to score.The deadlock was broken by none other than Fernando Torres to net in his second goal of the match .After that it was a cakewalk for Liverpool as Gerrard scored from a peanlty and Crouch scored from a header.

Group B:

Rosenborg 0-4 Chelsea
A brace from Drogba and a free-kick l from Alex helped Chelsea go 3-0 up. The 4th goal came in from Joe Cole in the second half.

Valencia 0-0 Schalke
David Albelda was sent of for his serious foul play

Group C:

Lazio 1-2 Olympiakos

Bremen 3-2 Real Madrid
Rosenberg opened the scoresheet for Bremen as Madrid's defene looked shaky from the first 5 min itself.Robinho equalized for Madrid.Bremen came back with Sanogo goal to take the lead at half time. Bremen increased their tally by one more goal in the second half with Hunt scoring the goal.Real Madrid fought hard but managed to pull only 1 in their bag with Vanistelrooy scoring. Vanistelrooy scored a fantastic chip goal.

Group D:

Benfica 1-1 Milan
Pirlo opened the scoring for Milan .The home team came back strong with the goal from Maxi.

Celtic 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk
Donati scored the winning goal in the 92minute to ensure Celtic reach the next round.

Group E:

LYON 2-2 BARCELONA

Bojan Krkic the 17 year wonder kid passed the ball to Iniesta who opened the scoring for Barcelona in just 5 minutes.Lyon came back in no time as within 3 min they equalized with a Juninho goal.Barca again took the lead in the second half with Messi scoring the penalty. Juninho scored his second goal of the match from a peanlty as Lyon had equalized again.

STUTTGART 3-2 RANGERS
Pardo,Cacau scored the goals for Stuttgart while Charlie Adam and Ferguson and Marica scored for Rangers.

Group F:

DYNAMO KIEV 1-4 ROMA
Panucci ,Guily and Mirko scored for Roma. Ismael scored for Dynamo

MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 SPORTING LISBON

After losing to Bolton,United continued the same form as they went 1-0 goal downin the first half .The goal came from Abel.Sir Alex Ferguson rested some of the key players like VanderSar and putting Giggs Tevez and Hargreves in the bench.With the start of second half Manu made two changes after their disappointing performance in 1st half Nani and Carrick were substituted and in came Tevez and Giggs.With their introduction a sudden urgency emerged among the Red Devils to score a goal and they got it with a equalizer from Tevez. Ronaldo scored the winning goal for Manu in the injury time from a free kick .The win was not a convincing for Manu as they had to fight till the end to get their goals.

Group G:

CSKA MOSCOW 1-0 PSV**
Farfan scored the goal for PSV.Last season Farfan was the top goal scorer in the Dutch league.

INTER MILAN3-0 FENERBACHE
The first half went goalless at San Siro with goals coming in the second half from Cruz and Ibrahimovic and Luis.

Group H:

SEVILLA 3-1 ARSENAL
Arsenal went ahead first with superb Eduardo's goal but Sevilla came back strong with two goals from Fabiano and Keita.kanoute scored the third goal with a peanlty which assured Sevilla 3 points.

STEAUA B 1-1 SLAVIA P
Badea scored for Steua while Zdenek equalized for Slavia

Croatia has been drawn in the same group as of England .England will have their chance to take on revenge against Croatia.The top team of each group definitely quailifies for the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa while the runners up wil have to play the play offs as four teams among these 8 runner up teams will qualify .

Whozz Next for England???

After sacking of Mclaren, who will be the next manager in for England ?

There is a strong possibility that JOSE MOURINHO "The Speical One" would be a strong contender for the managerial post but there is news that he has refused to be one of the contender.We have some great names among the conetenders like Scolari ,Hiddink,O'neil and the surprising element is none other than Allan Shearer.Lets hope England get a good manager and bring those winning days back for England.

England will be missed.. [:(]

I just cant imagine the EURO tournament being played and England not being a part of it.I stayed awake till 1.30am just to watch the do or die match for England against Croatia and which i thought England would win comfortably .I was getting very sleepy as Andy Panders the host for the Star Sports Channel was giving his brainy tips for England in front of Paul Masselfield and Jamie Reeves .The game preview show was 30 min and i could have easily dozed of thanks to my mom who was making me awake everytime i slept.I came out of my sleep completely when i saw a horror from Scott Carson who could have easily stopped that ball from reaching the nets,even my class reserve goalkeeper Sameer Parmar[:)] could have stopped it.I simply could not understand the reason for keeping Paul Robinson out from the team and putting David Beckham and David James in the substitute bench.After being 1-0 down in 8 min i thought England would come back hard easily , as England was getting in their goal scoring mood as i could see great runs from ShawnWrightPhillips ,tackles from the captain StevieG ,headers from Crocuhie but none upto the mark ,Meanwhile England defence made another horror by conceidng one more goal and they went down 2-0 in just 14 minutes.I was simply shocked at that moment.As soon as goals were being scored i was getting missed calls and messages from my friends who were to watching,noone was going to spare Mclaren .The first half scoreline remained 2-0 as England could not break Croatian defences.The only intelligent thing Mclaren did was to bring David Beckham in the team as a substitute in the second half and then suddenly i could see an urgency among England players for scoring goals and they got it as Defoe was brought down in the penalty box and Frank Lampard converted the penalty easily. The second goal came from a brilliant pass from Beckham and Crouch controlled it nicely on his chest brought it down and scored.It became 2-2 and i was quite happy as England was back in the game and a draw was enough for them to qualify.But my hapiness dint last long as Croatian substitute Petric scored a fantastic goal as Scott Carson had even failed to touch the ball.It was full time as England's efforts were not enought to get them berth in Euro 2008 knock out stages .I was very disappointed so as many England fan would have been ,i could see crying faces in the stands too.I went to sleep by 3.30 hoping that the next day Mclaren would be sacked and next day afternoon FA had sacked him and we have some great managers as his successor.

I couldnt simply blame Carson for the Euro loss but it was all managers wrong defensive strategies which made England loose.Yes indeed England will be missed and i am supporting Spain now as just someone has rightly said The Life should go on...
